Data Governance Compliance for Education Training Course

Course Overview

Data Governance Compliance for Education Training Course is designed to equip education professionals, school administrators, university managers, education planners, policymakers, monitoring and evaluation specialists, ICT officers, researchers, data managers, quality assurance officers, project managers, and development practitioners with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills in establishing, implementing, and maintaining effective data governance and compliance frameworks within educational institutions. As ministries of education, universities, colleges, schools, NGOs, donor agencies, and international development organizations increasingly rely on Education Management Information Systems (EMIS), Learning Management Systems (LMS), Results-Based Management (RBM), Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL), Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4), educational research, institutional quality assurance, digital transformation, education analytics, data-driven decision-making, business intelligence, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance, effective data governance has become essential for ensuring data quality, privacy, security, transparency, accountability, and institutional resilience. This course provides participants with practical knowledge and internationally recognized best practices for managing education data responsibly while complying with legal, regulatory, ethical, and organizational requirements.

The course provides participants with practical experience in data governance frameworks, data stewardship, data ownership, metadata management, master data management, education data standards, data quality management, information security, privacy regulations, compliance auditing, risk management, records management, data lifecycle management, education policy implementation, donor compliance, ethical data management, dashboard governance, digital transformation, cloud governance, and business continuity planning. Participants will learn to integrate Education Management Information Systems (EMIS), Learning Management Systems (LMS), Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Power BI, SPSS, STATA, R, Python, SQL databases, SurveyCTO, KoboToolbox, Open Data Kit (ODK), GIS, cloud computing platforms, cybersecurity tools, artificial intelligence, and enterprise data governance platforms to improve institutional decision-making, learner information management, education performance monitoring, research governance, and regulatory compliance.

Participants will further explore advanced concepts including artificial intelligence governance, predictive analytics governance, cybersecurity risk management, education data ethics, data sharing agreements, digital identity management, audit readiness, business intelligence governance, institutional quality assurance, accreditation compliance, knowledge management, organizational learning, strategic leadership, policy simulation, and sustainable digital governance. Practical exercises demonstrate how robust data governance strengthens education monitoring and evaluation systems, enhances institutional accountability, protects sensitive learner information, improves donor reporting, supports policy implementation, optimizes digital transformation initiatives, and promotes informed educational decision-making through secure, accurate, and trusted education data.

Through instructor-led workshops, governance simulations, compliance assessments, software demonstrations, collaborative group projects, policy development exercises, real-world education datasets, and comprehensive education case studies, participants will gain hands-on experience in designing, implementing, monitoring, and improving education data governance frameworks. Upon successful completion of the course, participants will possess the competencies required to lead education data governance initiatives, strengthen institutional compliance, support Results-Based Management, improve education planning, safeguard education information assets, and contribute to improved educational outcomes across ministries of education, universities, colleges, schools, NGOs, research institutions, and international development organizations.
