Power BI Implementation for Health Training Course

Course Overview

Power BI Implementation for Health Training Course is designed to equip healthcare professionals, health information managers, monitoring and evaluation specialists, epidemiologists, researchers, hospital administrators, and public health practitioners with practical knowledge and advanced technical skills in implementing Microsoft Power BI for healthcare data analytics, reporting, business intelligence, and evidence-based decision-making. As healthcare organizations increasingly adopt digital health transformation, Health Management Information Systems (HMIS), Electronic Medical Records (EMRs), Results-Based Management (RBM), Universal Health Coverage (UHC), Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), healthcare performance management, and real-time data analytics, Power BI has become one of the most powerful platforms for transforming complex healthcare data into interactive dashboards and actionable insights. This comprehensive course provides participants with the competencies required to implement Power BI solutions that improve healthcare planning, operational efficiency, disease surveillance, quality improvement, and strategic management.

The course provides participants with practical skills in Power BI Desktop, Power Query, Data Modeling, DAX (Data Analysis Expressions), Power BI Service, dashboard development, healthcare KPI monitoring, geospatial analytics, data integration, and automated reporting. Participants will learn how to connect Power BI to multiple healthcare data sources including DHIS2, Hospital Information Systems (HIS), Electronic Medical Records (EMR), Microsoft Excel, SQL Server, SharePoint, SurveyCTO, KoboToolbox, ODK, cloud databases, and web services. The training demonstrates how to clean, transform, model, visualize, and analyze healthcare data to support disease surveillance, maternal and child health programs, immunization monitoring, HIV/AIDS services, nutrition programs, emergency response, hospital management, and public health policy development.

Participants will also explore advanced business intelligence concepts including predictive analytics, artificial intelligence integration, healthcare performance dashboards, financial reporting, clinical performance monitoring, patient outcome analysis, resource utilization, data governance, security, row-level security, report publishing, collaboration, and enterprise deployment. The course emphasizes international best practices for healthcare data visualization, performance monitoring, regulatory compliance, and executive reporting while enabling organizations to make informed decisions using reliable, real-time health information.

Through instructor-led demonstrations, practical workshops, interactive simulations, collaborative exercises, and healthcare-focused case studies, participants will develop hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and managing Power BI solutions for healthcare organizations. Upon successful completion of the course, participants will possess the technical expertise to develop enterprise-level healthcare dashboards, automate reporting processes, strengthen monitoring and evaluation systems, improve healthcare performance management, and support evidence-based planning and policy formulation across hospitals, ministries of health, NGOs, humanitarian agencies, and donor-funded health programs.
