The course equips participants with advanced knowledge and practical skills in renewable energy technologies, solar photovoltaic systems, mini-grids, hybrid energy systems, clean cooking technologies, energy access planning, climate-smart humanitarian programming, sustainable infrastructure, energy efficiency, environmental sustainability, Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL), Geographic Information Systems (GIS), digital energy monitoring, project management, donor compliance, environmental and social safeguards, and evidence-based decision-making. Participants develop practical competencies to improve energy access, strengthen climate resilience, reduce environmental degradation, promote sustainable livelihoods, and enhance the quality of life in refugee settlements.

Refugee settlements and displacement camps often face significant challenges related to limited energy access, dependence on fossil fuels and biomass, deforestation, environmental degradation, unsafe cooking practices, inadequate lighting, and increasing humanitarian demands. Renewable energy solutions provide reliable, affordable, and sustainable alternatives that improve safety, support education and healthcare services, strengthen livelihoods, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and enhance humanitarian operations. This course introduces internationally recognized frameworks and standards including the Sphere Humanitarian Standards, Core Humanitarian Standard (CHS), Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the Global Plan of Action for Sustainable Energy Solutions in Situations of Displacement (GPA), Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction, Results-Based Management (RBM), Environmental and Social Safeguards (ESS), energy access planning frameworks, climate adaptation strategies, and humanitarian-development-peace nexus approaches. Participants learn practical approaches for integrating renewable energy into humanitarian programming while promoting environmental sustainability, operational efficiency, and long-term resilience.

Throughout the course, participants gain practical experience in energy needs assessments, renewable energy feasibility studies, solar photovoltaic system design, battery storage, mini-grid planning, energy-efficient technologies, clean cooking solutions, GIS mapping, digital monitoring platforms, environmental impact assessments, financial analysis, procurement management, donor reporting, infrastructure maintenance, and community engagement. 7.     Onsite Training Inclusions: The course fee for onsite training covers facilitation, training materials, two coffee breaks, a buffet lunch, and a Certificate of Successful Completion. Participants are responsible for their travel expenses, airport transfers, visa applications, dinners, health/accident insurance, and personal expenses.

8.     Additional Services: Accommodation, pickup services, flight booking, and visa processing arrangements are available upon request at discounted rates.
