Introduction

The Gender Based Violence (GBV) in Emergencies Training Course is a comprehensive professional development program designed to equip humanitarian professionals, emergency responders, government officials, healthcare providers, social workers, protection officers, and development practitioners with the knowledge, technical expertise, and practical skills required to prevent, mitigate, and respond to Gender Based Violence (GBV) during humanitarian emergencies. The training integrates internationally recognized humanitarian frameworks and standards including the Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC) Guidelines for Integrating Gender-Based Violence Interventions in Humanitarian Action, Sphere Humanitarian Standards, Core Humanitarian Standard (CHS), Minimum Standards for Gender-Based Violence in Emergencies Programming, Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP), Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) principles, Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW), humanitarian programme cycle, safeguarding frameworks, monitoring and evaluation systems, protection information management, and disaster risk reduction strategies.
