Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM) Training Course

Introduction

The Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM) Training Course is a comprehensive professional development program designed to equip humanitarian professionals, government officials, emergency responders, and development practitioners with the knowledge, technical expertise, and practical skills required to effectively establish, coordinate, manage, and monitor camps and camp-like settings for refugees, internally displaced persons (IDPs), asylum seekers, returnees, and disaster-affected populations. The course emphasizes camp governance, humanitarian coordination, site planning, camp administration, protection, emergency preparedness, shelter management, humanitarian logistics, information management, community engagement, disaster risk reduction, service delivery coordination, and durable solutions. Participants will gain practical competencies in ensuring safe, dignified, inclusive, and accountable camp management while complying with international humanitarian standards and protection principles.

The growing frequency of armed conflicts, climate-related disasters, disease outbreaks, forced displacement, and humanitarian emergencies has significantly increased the demand for competent professionals capable of managing displacement sites effectively. This course provides practical knowledge on Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM) principles, humanitarian cluster coordination, emergency site planning, registration systems, camp governance, humanitarian service coordination, camp safety and security, protection mainstreaming, gender and inclusion, environmental management, emergency preparedness, and camp closure strategies. Through practical simulations, field-based exercises, and case studies, participants develop the skills necessary to coordinate humanitarian assistance, improve living conditions, and strengthen resilience within displaced communities.

The training integrates internationally recognized humanitarian frameworks and operational standards including the Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM) Cluster, Sphere Humanitarian Standards, humanitarian principles, protection standards, the Guiding Principles on Internal Displacement, refugee protection frameworks, humanitarian information management systems, emergency operations coordination, accountability to affected populations, community participation, disaster risk reduction, and sustainable recovery planning. Participants will strengthen their capacity to coordinate multi-sector humanitarian interventions, facilitate stakeholder collaboration, manage camp operations efficiently, monitor service delivery, and support durable solutions through voluntary return, local integration, or resettlement.

Upon successful completion of this course, participants will possess practical skills to plan, establish, coordinate, manage, monitor, and evaluate camp operations while promoting protection, participation, accountability, inclusion, resilience, and sustainable humanitarian assistance. The course combines expert facilitation, practical workshops, collaborative learning, simulation exercises, operational planning, field-based case studies, and action planning to ensure participants acquire practical competencies applicable across governments, United Nations agencies, humanitarian organizations, non-governmental organizations, disaster management institutions, civil protection agencies, and community-based organizations.
