SUPPLY CHAIN AND LOGISTICS GIS TRAINING COURSE

Introduction

Supply Chain and Logistics GIS is a comprehensive training course designed to provide participants with advanced skills in applying Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Location Intelligence, Spatial Analytics, Transportation Modeling, and Geospatial Technologies to supply chain management and logistics operations. As organizations face increasing pressure to improve operational efficiency, reduce transportation costs, optimize distribution networks, and enhance service delivery, GIS has become an essential tool for supply chain planning, route optimization, fleet management, warehouse location analysis, and real-time logistics monitoring. This course equips professionals with practical techniques for integrating geospatial intelligence into modern supply chain and logistics systems.

The course explores the use of spatial data, transportation networks, customer demand patterns, infrastructure information, mobility analytics, remote sensing data, and location intelligence platforms to support strategic and operational logistics decisions. Participants will learn how to design efficient transportation routes, optimize warehouse locations, monitor supply chain performance, analyze distribution networks, evaluate logistics risks, and enhance last-mile delivery operations using advanced GIS tools and spatial decision support systems. The training emphasizes the application of geospatial technologies for improving supply chain visibility and operational resilience.

Participants will gain practical experience in transportation network analysis, logistics corridor mapping, fleet tracking systems, route optimization modeling, warehouse and distribution center planning, demand forecasting, supply chain risk assessment, and logistics dashboard development. Through real-world case studies and hands-on exercises, participants will explore how governments, humanitarian organizations, retail companies, manufacturers, transport agencies, and global logistics providers use GIS to improve efficiency, reduce costs, strengthen resilience, and enhance customer satisfaction. Emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning, Internet of Things (IoT), Big Data Analytics, GPS Tracking, and Real-Time Geospatial Monitoring are integrated throughout the training.

By the end of the course, participants will be able to design and implement GIS-enabled supply chain solutions, optimize logistics operations, perform transportation network analysis, develop logistics intelligence dashboards, and support strategic decision-making through geospatial analytics. The course empowers organizations to achieve operational excellence, improve logistics performance, strengthen supply chain resilience, and enhance competitiveness through advanced location-based intelligence and spatial technologies.
