Grant Writing and Presentation Skills Course

Course Overview

The Grant Writing and Presentation Skills Course is a comprehensive professional development programme designed to equip participants with the practical knowledge, strategic techniques, and communication skills required to develop competitive grant proposals and deliver compelling funding presentations. The course focuses on strengthening participants' ability to identify funding opportunities, conduct donor research, prepare persuasive concept notes and grant proposals, develop realistic project budgets, and effectively present project ideas to donors, funding agencies, investors, and development partners. Participants will acquire internationally recognized grant writing methodologies that increase funding success rates while enhancing organizational resource mobilization and programme sustainability.

As competition for donor funding continues to increase, organizations require professionals capable of producing high-quality, evidence-based, and results-oriented grant proposals that align with donor priorities and international funding standards. This course introduces participants to best practices in grant writing, proposal development, resource mobilization, donor mapping, fundraising strategy, logical framework development, results-based management, budget preparation, monitoring and evaluation planning, and proposal presentation techniques. Participants will learn how to prepare compelling executive summaries, problem statements, theories of change, SMART objectives, implementation plans, sustainability strategies, and donor-compliant budgets that strengthen funding applications.

The programme combines theory with practical application through proposal writing workshops, donor analysis exercises, presentation simulations, peer reviews, grant evaluation sessions, and real-world funding case studies. Participants will strengthen their skills in persuasive writing, project design, stakeholder engagement, public speaking, proposal pitching, presentation design, storytelling for fundraising, and responding confidently to donor questions. The course also emphasizes effective communication, proposal editing, proposal review techniques, and ethical fundraising practices to improve grant competitiveness and organizational credibility.

Upon successful completion of the course, participants will possess the expertise required to develop winning grant proposals, prepare professional funding presentations, strengthen donor relationships, secure financial support for development initiatives, and enhance organizational fundraising capacity. The acquired knowledge and practical skills will enable organizations to diversify funding sources, improve project sustainability, strengthen partnerships, and successfully compete for grants from governments, international organizations, foundations, bilateral agencies, multilateral institutions, and corporate donors.
