Course Introduction

Climate-Smart Agriculture and Gender Integration is a specialized professional training course designed to equip agricultural professionals, climate change practitioners, gender specialists, policymakers, development practitioners, project managers, extension officers, and sustainability experts with the knowledge and practical skills required to integrate gender equality into climate-smart agriculture (CSA) programs and interventions. As climate change continues to threaten agricultural productivity, food security, water resources, and rural livelihoods, there is a growing need for inclusive agricultural systems that address the different needs, vulnerabilities, and capacities of women, men, youth, and marginalized communities. This course provides participants with practical tools and strategies for promoting resilient, productive, sustainable, and gender-responsive agricultural systems.

The course explores the relationship between climate-smart agriculture, gender equality, climate adaptation, climate mitigation, food security, sustainable land management, environmental conservation, rural development, and resilience building. Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of climate-smart agricultural practices, gender-responsive agricultural planning, climate risk management, agricultural value chains, natural resource management, and sustainable livelihoods. The training aligns with international frameworks such as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Paris Agreement, Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), National Adaptation Plans (NAPs), and global agricultural development strategies that promote climate resilience and social inclusion.

Participants will develop practical skills in conducting gender analysis in agricultural systems, assessing climate risks affecting farming communities, designing inclusive climate-smart agriculture interventions, promoting women's participation in agricultural value chains, strengthening access to productive resources, and monitoring agricultural resilience outcomes. The course emphasizes evidence-based decision-making, participatory planning, climate finance opportunities, agricultural innovation, sustainable production systems, and institutional capacity strengthening. Through practical exercises and real-world case studies, participants will learn how to enhance agricultural productivity while reducing climate vulnerability and promoting gender equality.

By the end of the course, participants will be able to design, implement, and evaluate climate-smart agriculture programs that effectively integrate gender considerations and contribute to resilient agricultural systems, sustainable food production, environmental sustainability, and rural economic development. 7.     Onsite Training Inclusions: The course fee for onsite training covers facilitation, training materials, two coffee breaks, a buffet lunch, and a Certificate of Successful Completion. Participants are responsible for their travel expenses, airport transfers, visa applications, dinners, health/accident insurance, and personal expenses.

8.     Additional Services: Accommodation, pickup services, freight booking, and visa processing arrangements are available upon request at discounted rates.
