CLIMATE SMART AGRICULTURE GOVERNANCE TRAINING COURSE

Introduction

Climate Smart Agriculture Governance is a strategic and multidisciplinary field that focuses on developing policies, institutional frameworks, governance systems, and management approaches that enable agricultural sectors to adapt to climate change, increase productivity, strengthen resilience, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. As climate variability, extreme weather events, land degradation, water scarcity, biodiversity loss, and food insecurity continue to threaten agricultural systems worldwide, governments, development organizations, agribusinesses, and farming communities must adopt climate-smart governance approaches that support sustainable agricultural development. This comprehensive training course equips participants with practical knowledge and advanced skills in climate-smart agriculture (CSA), governance systems, policy development, climate resilience planning, environmental sustainability, and agricultural transformation.

The course explores the integration of climate adaptation and mitigation strategies into agricultural policies, programs, institutions, and value chains. Participants will gain a deep understanding of climate-smart agriculture principles, climate governance frameworks, agricultural risk management systems, environmental regulations, climate finance mechanisms, and sustainable resource management approaches.
