Transport Economics and Planning Training Course

Course Overview

Transport Economics and Planning is a comprehensive professional training course designed to equip participants with the knowledge, analytical skills, and practical competencies required to evaluate, plan, manage, and optimize transportation systems in support of economic growth, sustainable development, and efficient mobility. As transportation plays a critical role in facilitating trade, investment, regional integration, urban development, logistics, and social connectivity, effective transport planning and economic analysis have become essential for governments, transport authorities, infrastructure developers, and private sector organizations. This course provides participants with a solid understanding of transport economics, transportation planning methodologies, infrastructure investment analysis, policy development, mobility management, and sustainable transport systems.

The course explores key concepts in transport demand analysis, transport policy formulation, economic evaluation of transport projects, infrastructure financing, traffic forecasting, urban mobility planning, freight transport economics, transport regulation, and multimodal transportation systems. Participants will gain practical insights into how transportation investments influence economic productivity, accessibility, regional competitiveness, and social development. The training emphasizes evidence-based planning, economic efficiency, cost-benefit analysis, transport modeling, and strategic decision-making to support effective transportation development initiatives.

Participants will develop competencies in transport demand forecasting, project appraisal, transport infrastructure planning, economic impact assessment, policy analysis, investment prioritization, mobility management, and performance evaluation. The course also examines emerging trends such as smart mobility, intelligent transport systems, sustainable urban transport, climate-resilient infrastructure, electric mobility, digital transport technologies, public-private partnerships, and green transportation economics. Through practical exercises, transport planning simulations, economic analyses, and case studies, participants will strengthen their ability to design and implement efficient and sustainable transport systems.

By the end of the training, participants will be able to conduct transport economic analyses, develop transportation plans, evaluate infrastructure investments, support policy formulation, and contribute to sustainable transport development strategies. The course integrates international best practices, modern analytical tools, and practical planning frameworks that enable organizations to maximize transportation benefits, improve mobility, and support long-term economic development objectives.
