Policy Development and National Planning Training Course

Policy Development and National Planning Training Course

Policy Development and National Planning is a comprehensive professional training program designed to strengthen the capacity of government institutions, ministries, public agencies, development organizations, and policy professionals in designing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating effective public policies and national development plans. The course provides practical knowledge and internationally recognized approaches to policy formulation, strategic planning, governance, public administration, economic development planning, evidence-based policymaking, institutional performance, and sustainable development. Participants will acquire practical skills for developing inclusive, data-driven, and results-oriented policies that support national priorities, improve public service delivery, and accelerate socioeconomic transformation.

As governments respond to rapid economic, technological, environmental, and social changes, there is an increasing demand for sound public policies, strategic national development plans, and effective governance systems. This Policy Development and National Planning Training Course equips participants with modern planning tools, policy analysis techniques, stakeholder engagement methodologies, strategic management frameworks, public financial planning approaches, monitoring and evaluation systems, and risk management strategies required to formulate responsive, inclusive, and sustainable national policies. The course emphasizes the integration of national visions, regional development frameworks, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and evidence-based decision-making into public policy and planning processes.

Participants will explore the complete policy cycle, including policy identification, agenda setting, policy research, policy formulation, regulatory impact assessment, implementation planning, budgeting, performance monitoring, policy evaluation, and institutional learning. The program integrates global best practices in national planning, governance, digital government, economic policy, public sector reforms, climate-resilient development, stakeholder participation, public-private partnerships, and institutional capacity development. Practical exercises, planning simulations, policy drafting workshops, and analytical tools enable participants to produce high-quality development plans and implement effective governance strategies.

Through practical case studies, group assignments, planning exercises, policy simulations, stakeholder consultations, and strategic planning workshops, participants will develop competencies required to lead national planning initiatives, formulate evidence-based policies, strengthen institutional coordination, improve development outcomes, enhance accountability, and promote sustainable economic growth. Upon completion, participants will possess the strategic, analytical, and leadership skills necessary to support national transformation agendas, improve governance systems, and deliver measurable public value through effective policy development and planning.
